Sun, April 15, 2018, at 10 AM, JHBG will host a ride in Flushing Park following the Flushing creak as part of our Healthy Community program with Make Queens Safer.
Author and New York City tour guide Sergey Kadinski will take us on a gentle ride through the park with special attention to the meandering path of the Flushing Creek against the relics of World’s Fairs Past.
See the park by bike. At that pace, we can cover a lot of ground and discover how accessible the varied areas are when you’re on two wheels. The ride will be approximately 2 1/2 hours and will end at the World’s Fair Marina. Riders should make plans to get home from there on their own.
The ride is suitable for healthy individuals and children 7 or older who are comfortable riding a bike and following our safety instructions.
This ride is part of a series co-sponsored by Make Queens Safer and Jackson Heights Beautification Group, in an effort to promote biking in Queens and create future interest in safer biking infrastructure.
The hosts are not responsible for any injury and will have just limited equipment for any needed bike repair.
With support from the Parks Build Healthy Communities Grant, led by Partnerships for Parks and made possible by Building Healthy Communities, an initiative of the Mayor’s Office and the Fund for Public Health NYC.
