The coronavirus situation continues to have a profound impact on businesses here in Queens, throughout the city and the region. While public health is of paramount concern for all, the Queens Chamber of Commerce will continue to adhere to our mission as we have since 1911: Educate, Advocate and Network. To that end, we offer the following:-With a large number of Queens venues shut down, we are pivoting from in-person events and networking opportunities to targeting our outreach efforts via phone and email. We’ll continue to share information and direct you to helpful resources from the City, State and Federal governments. -We are working with our local Queens elected officials to identify businesses in extreme distress, including those who may not be Queens Chamber Members, and need our help. If you are in need or know a firm that is, please contact us.-If you would like to share a business update, a change in business hours, event cancellation or postponement, or any update on your business, please email us the details at info@queenschamber.org We will be sending a Daily Queens Business Update every day at Noon to our entire database; seven days a week. Let’s not abandon our neighbors and fellow business owners during these difficult times. The business of doing business must continue. New Yorkers have to go to work, pay the rent, taxes, utility bills and take care of their families. Shop locally at your nearby market, eat out or order from your corner restaurant, support all your local business as much as you can. Overall, Queens County is in good shape: Governor Cuomo, Mayor De Blasio and City Council Speaker Johnson all seem to be working well together and out front leading. Let’s make sure we stay safe and share accurate information from our city and state government and trusted organizations with our friends, colleagues, employees and loved ones. Please use this email address as we have several people monitoring it for a quick response: info@queenschamber.org And lastly: Don’t quit or give up; know that we are here for you and your organization. Never, ever surrender. Sincerely, Thomas J.
