The JHBG Newsletter - Published Since 1995
Views from the Heights is a quarterly publication produced to report neighborhood news and to document the organization’s efforts to make Jackson Heights the friendliest neighborhood in the city!
Our regular issues often tell readers about our ongoing sustainability projects, advocacy efforts, and all-around neighborhood news!
The newsletter covers neighborhood developments, highlights our garden spots which have been significantly improved thanks to dedicated volunteer efforts, as well as matters of preservation.
A special section on the Jackson Heights Orchestra previews the fall concert schedule. Our issues also include previews of other major upcoming events, like the annual Children’s Halloween Parade, as well as updates about our programs, like JH SCRAPS community composting site, and others. Don’t miss the profiles of long-time neighborhood residents, JHBG volunteers, and much more!
Our last edition of the year in 2025 featured a recap of another exciting Halloween parade, as well as stories about some of the pets from the neighborhood, and other stories.
The Spring 2026 edition of Views from the Heights is coming soon!
Views from the Heights has been the voice of JHBG since 1995. Written, edited, and distributed entirely by volunteers, the newsletter serves as both a record of our neighborhood’s ongoing story and a call to action for residents who want to get involved.
